School Closures due to wildfires

  • Pelican Mountain School (Sandy Lake)
  • Paddle Prairie School: Closed for the remainder of the 2018-2019 school year. 

Any decision regarding school operations will be announced once more information becomes available.

Evacuation Orders

Sunday, May 26, 2019, at 6:00 p.m.: Paddle Prairie Métis Settlement

Re-entry for communities previously under Evacuation Order

Wednesday, June 12, 2019: Phase 3 Re-entry (Return of Residents) for Wabasca-Desmarais, Sandy Lake and Chipewyan Lake. The threat of wildfire still exists for the above-mentioned communities. As a result, a four (4) hour Evacuation Alert will remain in effect.

We believe that students have the right to achieve their full potential within a caring and respectful environment.

Supply Lists

School supplies are provided to the students. They do need to have a pair of indoor non- marking sneakers for gym class.

Programs and Services

Conklin offers a quality education to K-12 students

Our grades are arranged in a multi-grade setting because we have low numbers of students in each grade type.

K-1-2-3 with Mrs. Kazuik along with teaching helper Ms. Pam Tremblay 

3-4-5-6 with Ms. Reck    

6-7-8-9 with Mrs. Jackson

10-12 online courses with Mr. Turpin

The school is proud to offer Cree and Native studies to our students with Mrs. Nora Chapdelaine

We also are lucky to have Ms. Doris prepare breakfast and hot delicious lunches and

Ms. Aneta to tidy up our amazing school.
